Lighting Designed for the Mountain, Not the Parking Lot
Standard commercial LED fixtures—as well as traditional metal halide and incandescent models—typically use 30–40° optics. While that works well for parking lots and sports fields, it falls short on ski runs. Ski areas often have limited mounting locations, resulting in long distances between light mounting locations. That leads to two common problems: overloading towers with multiple fixtures (expensive) and creating inconsistent lighting with "hot spots" and "dark pockets" on the ski run.
At Snowlux, we've engineered an optic solution specifically for lighting ski runs. Our unique elliptical optic delivers a wide 85° horizontal spread—more than twice the coverage of traditional optics—without sacrificing throw, thanks to a 40° vertical beam. The result is even, consistent illumination across the slope with no hot spots, no dark zones—just a clean, continuous wash of light.
After all, our motto says it best: “No more dark spots.”
