Built for the Mountain Grid

One of the most overlooked challenges ski areas face when upgrading their lighting systems is electrical stability. Traditional high-output fixtures often come with high inrush currents—those quick surges of power when lights are first energized—that can trip breakers or stress an already overburdened mountain power supply.

Snowlux fixtures were engineered with that in mind.
Our fixtures draw significantly less inrush current—just 1.25 A²s at 120V and 1.09 A²s at 480V—making them extremely gentle on startup. This low inrush design helps avoid nuisance trips and reduces wear on electrical components, especially on aging infrastructure or generator-powered systems common at elevation.

But that’s not all—we’ve also built in 10kV common mode surge protection, providing peace of mind during lightning storms or power fluctuations. That means your investment—and your infrastructure—is protected.
